Randall Embry
Bio (written 4/15/2001) for publication with Linux Journal article
Randall Embry (randall@embry.com) lives with his wife, four year old
daughter, and two cats in Bloomington, Indiana. Last year, he traded
in his laptop for a 28 pound "luggable" with a 15 inch LCD screen. (It
runs Linux, of course.) In addition to programming and aggressively
enjoying Linux, Randall manages a team of programmers and network
engineers at Dataworks, the IT consulting division of Fine Light. There he typically
steers his clients towards Linux solutions. Randall has been
professionally administering and programming under various flavors of
Unix for about 15 years. He began his journey with Linux in 1995, and recently attained LPI Level 1 certification. Hobbies
include math, astronomy, electronics, robotics, coin collecting, and
woodworking. Also, he is a private pilot and holds a technician class
amateur radio license.
